Lucknow: Residents of Lucknow will soon have a new recreational attraction as the upcoming Magical Land Fantasy Park in Ashiana’s Vanasthali Park takes shape. Inspired by fantasy worlds and interactive storytelling, the theme park is expected to be completed by September 2026, offering visitors a unique blend of robotic creatures, fairy-tale characters, and immersive landscapes.
During a site inspection, Prathamesh Kumar, Vice Chairman of the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA), reviewed the progress of ongoing development works and directed officials to ensure timely completion of the project. Senior officials, including Chief Engineer Manvendra Singh, Superintending Engineer Navneet Kumar Sharma, Garden Officer Shashi Kumar Bharti, and other engineers, were also present during the inspection.
According to the LDA Vice Chairman, the theme-based development project is being undertaken at Vanasthali Park in Sector-K of Ashiana under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model at an estimated cost of ₹12 crore. The park is being designed as a fantasy destination featuring interactive attractions inspired by mythology, folklore, and popular fantasy characters.
Visitors will be able to experience robotic models of dragons, unicorns, cyclops, Airavat, and other mythical creatures, similar to the attractions found in international dinosaur and fantasy parks. In addition, the park will showcase characters and stories from the famous Indian fable collection Panchatantra, creating an engaging educational and entertainment experience for children and families.
The project also includes the installation of 12 life-sized sculptures and live models made from recycled and discarded materials. These artistic creations will depict fantasy figures such as mermaids, phoenixes, genies, griffins, werewolves, and Mowgli. A large water body with an attractive fountain, a watchtower, and modern toilet facilities are also being developed as part of the park’s infrastructure.

During his visit, Prathamesh Kumar also inspected the Jyotiba Phule Zonal Park, where beautification and development works worth approximately ₹4 crore are nearing completion. He reviewed the newly constructed Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), developed by a private contractor, and instructed officials to complete testing and begin operations within one month.
The Vice Chairman further inspected Gautam Buddha Shanti Upvan Parts 1, 2, and 3, directing officials to install open gyms and children’s play equipment at suitable locations to enhance public amenities.
Reviewing horticulture and irrigation works along Shaheed Path, Kumar assessed the progress of underground pipelines, drip irrigation systems, pop-up sprinklers, and borewell installations at multiple locations. He instructed officials to complete irrigation works by June 30 and horticulture-related works by July 30, warning that delays could lead to action against the contractor.
The upcoming Magical Land Fantasy Park is expected to become one of Lucknow’s most distinctive leisure destinations, combining entertainment, education, sustainability, and innovative design to create a memorable experience for visitors of all ages.
